| The comments below were written before I was aware of the tragic accident that occured to 13603. As such I hope that anyone who has already read the notes does not take them out of context.
One year on from the original gallery showing as much of a single day's operations as possible the excercise was repeated. The services have changed considerably and with vehicles now working through to London an attempt was made to catch as much as possible during daylight. As such there are images of the 0830 departures from Glasgow, the 1105, 1235, 1435 and 1505 interchanges at Broxburn, and finally the 1735 arrival from London. There are also a couple of images of Motorvator operations where the opportunity presented itself. Although the loadings on the services were generally quite high, being a Friday probably helped, the organisation was lacking at times. Late running was a consistent feature of the days operations, with in one case passengers having to wait almost an extra hour in temperatures on about 2 degrees before a bus turned up. I do not think it is possible to record everything, between Glasgow and Perth a Jonckerre articulated and a Citybus were seen on service M9. From later observations I presume the artic formed the 1100 service to London. At about 1616 there were another 4 vehicles at Broxden, including 15259 and I think 15249 which had not been noted earlier in the day. |
