| Would like to see what these would be like on the 20. The newer P and R reg, long wheelbase versions of these done quite well. Personally, i think these ones sound better what with their really loud and engine and the nice whine you get off the gearbox |
|---|
| Thes buses would be excellent on the 20 there excellent buses on the Cumbernauld Express runs and also I know they would be good on the 20 as well cause whenever Motherwells ones have done the 203 the odd time they have been great oing Fernhill Road. |

A Recent Addition to the First Glasgow Fleet Lathalmond 2005 - Saturday 20 August |

| I seen this bus on the 20 to East Kilbride crossing Rutherglen Main Street yesterday. It looked quite impressive, the first time I have seen it in public service. Will there be any more on way to transfer some of the number 20 over to a partial low-floor service. |

31350 is an Early Dual Door, RH bodied Olympian Alexander R Types |
|---|
| Words cannot express how much i hate this vehicle. It has 2 gears (slow and not so slow) giving a top speed of 30mph. You might say "So what? Most roads are 30 anyways" but on the 20 going up the East Kilbride Dual carriageway, it's just plain painful. Not only does it have only 2 gears, but getting from 1st into 2nd is nothing short of a miracle after a good couple of minutes of full revs in 1st.
Then there's the exhaust. About 99% of the time ive been on the vehicle, there has either been a hole in the manifold or a gasket has blown causing black smoke to belch into the main cabin. It's not too difficult to spot it when the sun catches it right. You can also still see the black staining above the rear near-side seats from the time i was on the bus and had to tell the driver about it when i got off from the shere volume of black smoke and noise coming from the engine bay. |
|---|
| The amount of times I've been on this bus it's been fine I've never seen black smoke pouring from engine and that's been sitting up the back I don't think it's a bad bus it is better than 31526 that's was slugglish and it does go faster than thirty my uncle got 45 out of it when he was driving it along Glasgow Road mind you it does take a while to get up to that also you've got to remember it's First Glasgow the buses don't get maintained that well. |
|---|
| it depends what mood its in |
|---|
| The only time ive been on this bus when it went over 30mph was going down the dual carriageway from East kilbride to Cathkin. Even then, the only way it could gather speed was for the driver to put it in neutral and let it coast down the big steel hill |
|---|
| This wasn't a bad bus when it was on the 20 I thougtht it was quite i would say 31526 was worse. |
|---|
| They were both excellent in my view. |

Regrettably, I didn't attend this year due to the inclement weather on the Saturday. You wisely chose to visit on Sunday, which appears to be a good deal drier. I'm impressed by the front, side and rear views that you have selected, giving a good indication of the vehicles. Excellent stuff.
